Sellers on Amazon’s marketplace can now use an artificial intelligence tool that will generate copy for their product listings, a company spokesperson told The Information. The tool, which uses large-language models to produce natural-sounding text, is one of the first examples of how Amazon is applying generative AI to its e-commerce business.
Amazon is known for its cloud unit, Amazon Web Services, which offers AI tools to other companies. But the new product listing tool shows that Amazon is also using the technology to improve its own operations. Last week, CEO Andy Jassy said that all of its businesses, including e-commerce, have multiple generative AI projects in the works.
